JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Education and Igbo under the Faculty of Education in the institutions listed above are:

Igbo and two other Arts subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNILAG accepts any three of Literature in English, History/Government, French, Geography, Math, Yoruba/Igbo, CRK/IRS, Economics, Commerce.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Education and Igbo as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credits including English Language and Igbo.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNILAG requires a credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any 3 of French, Literature in English, Yoruba, Igbo, History or Government, Geography, Economics, CRS, IRS and Arabic.

(ii) ABSU requires Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Igbo Language and any three subjects.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Education and Igbo as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two NCE/’A’ level passes in Igbo and any relevant subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIZIK accepts NCE not below credit pass in Igbo.

(ii) ABSU admits through Direct Entry only.

(iii) UNILAG accepts very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects:
(a) Igbo and any two of French, Yoruba, Lit-in English, History, CRS/IRS, Geography and Government.
(b) Two A/Level passes in Igbo and any subject in Humanities.
(c) NCE: Igbo and any other two Arts subjects.
(d) Candidates must also satisfy the O/Level requirements
