UNESCO Donates Safe School Kits Against Boko Haram Threats To Adamawa, Borno, Yobe

Boko Haram in Adamawa, Borno, Yobe schoolsThe United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), has donated 1,350 Safe School Kits to 114 institutions and organisations in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

The Chairman of Exam Ethics Marshals International, Mr Ike Onyechere, made this known in a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday.
The statement explained that the donation was to boost the efforts of Federal Government and Governments of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe to enhance safety and security in schools.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the safe school kits contain Safe School Manual, Instructional Video DVD, Audio CD and Hand Sanitiser.
It said the kits would be distributed in Abuja on Nov. 24 as the climax of the safe school capacity building training/workshop also sponsored by UNESCO.
Onyechere listed 13 primary schools, 10 Junior Secondary Schools, 10 Senior Secondary Schools, State Universal Education Board, State Emergency Management Agency, and Nigeria Union of Teachers as beneficiaries.
It added that Nigeria Union Journalists and Nigeria Teachers Institutes in each of the three states would receive the kits and participate in the training.
