Work, Energy and Power

28 Lessons 2 hours

All objects have energy. The word energy comes from the Greek word energeia, meaning activity or operation. Energy is closely linked to mass and cannot be created or destroyed. In this tutorial, we will consider gravitational potential and kinetic energy.

We use the term work in everyday conversation to mean many different things. We talk about going to work, doing homework, working in class. Physicists mean something very specific when they talk about work. In Physics we use the term work to describe the process of transferring energy from object or system to another or converting energy from one form to another. In this tutorial, you will learn about work, energy and power.
