Yale University Alumni Pledges To Help Nigerian Students To Get Scholarship Into The Varsity

At a meeting held recently in Lagos by the Yale Club of Nigeria, Nigerians, who graduated from Yale University, Connecticut, USA, have pledged to help exceptional Nigerian students achieve the dream of getting admitted into Ivy League Universities.
The club President, Dr. Haroun Adamu said one of the aims of the club is to attract more Nigerian students to the institution and encourage other accomplished alumni members in the Diaspora to return and contribute their quota to Nigeria’s development.

He said, “Any student that went through the rigorous Yale examination process and emerged successful, automatically deserves a scholarship. There is no question about his ability. He is on scholarship automatically.” Adamu added, “We intend to create a forum, organise lectures, and we will invite professors and Nobel laureates to come and share with us, their latest research findings in all fields. This will expose Nigerians to what is happening in the world of research. These are the kinds of things we are trying to achieve…” Yale’s Director of International Activities, Ian Shapiro, also confirmed that the club was working on developing a scholarship scheme for Nigerian students to attend the university.
