UNIZIK Premiers First Own Commercial Film



The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe Uni­versity (UNIZIK) Awka , Prof Joseph Ahaneku has laud­ed the Department of Theartre and Film Studies of the institu­tion as its sets to premier its first commercial film titled “The Di­ary of a Campus Girl.”

The film , which is written and produced by Prof. Tracie Utoh-Ezeajugh and directed by Mr. Patrick Okoye, will debut on June 17, 2016, at the University Auditorium.

The first of its kind in any Ni­gerian university, this film has many prominent faces in the movie industry who also grad­uated from UNIZIK.

They include Oge Okoye, Ken Erics Ugo, Uju Okeke, even as other budding actors which in­clude Precious Linus, Esther Iyare, Chima Igbokwe, Chuk­wuemeka Eni, Chibueze Igwe among others, also participated.

This film project, according to Prof. Utoh-Ezeajugh , who is the Head of Department of Theartre and Film Studies of UNIZIK, was fully designed and produced by staff and students of the institution either as ac­tors/actresses or technical crew.

Speaking on the film project, the Vice Chancellor who is also its executive producer, said the film project was exceptional.

Prof. Ahaneku also said that the film project is an opportu­nity to provide a new platform of employment for graduates, adding that it can be shown in cinemas.
