Latest UI Update: UI Updating of List Should be Completed By Saturday, 8th August, 2015

The University of Ibadan (UI) has announced that prospective candidates for the post-UTME screening exercise, who had been unable to login to the admission website, are hereby informed that the institution has received the supplementary list of names from JAMB.

The uploading of the list should completed by Saturday (8/8/2015) on the school website.

Please be patient. There will be no Post UTME until those who chose UI have the chance to register.

UI DVC – Only 9% of post-UTME candidates will be admitted

The Deputy Vice-chancellor (Academic) of the University of Ibadan (UI), Prof. Gbemisola Oke, has disclosed that only about 9.1 per cent of prospective post-UTME candidates seeking undergraduate admission into the University will be admitted.

Speaking during the Stakeholders’ Forum organised by the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), Prof. Oke stated that the institution could only admit 3,000 out of over 33,000 prospective students that met the requirement as set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The DVC advocated for the use of Distance Learning to supplement the regular admission of students.

She said: “if we can’t meet the needs of our people through the regular face-to-face method, let us use Open Distance Learning. Education drives growth and development and it must be at the centre for any nation to make advancement”.

Oke assured that UI would ensure that the products of its DLC “are of quality and standard in strict adherence to the mandate of the Premier University”.

    1. You can obtain the form when it comes out, Simi but only when UI updates their list on the portal and resolves the problem. A lot of students have been having difficulty knowing their eligibility status for a while now. The cut-off mark to write post-utme in UI for all courses was 200 last year and that of this year is yet to be announced but there is no inherent reason why that should change. The departmental cut-off after post-utme for Pharmacy is 68.

  • Ąkintunde Akindele

how can I acquire form? I had 225 n it's still telling me invalid credential. But I told ui has updated d list.

    1. Akindele, the form is yet to come out and you are not the only one experiencing this kind of problem. UI announced that they have updated the list and I'm sure the institution is working to address these issues before the form comes out.

  • Adetunji Adeola

Please, I have been trying to know my sisters’ eligibility into the University of Ibadan, but I have been having problem with login. She had 200 above in her JAMB and I also checked where she was posted on the JAMB new policy website and it was revealed that she is been posted to University of Ibadan for a 4-year course but am still having issues trying to log in. Pls kindly help rectify this situation.

    1. If she has been posted to UI, then there really is nothing to fear, Adeola. It is a server congestion problem from UI's website, please be patient and keep trying.
