FG has reversed the previous administration’s decision to upgrade the University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAM) College of Medicine to Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo in Benue State.
It will be recalled that prior to the upgrading, FUAM was earlier granted the license to run the college of medicine with its teaching hospital located in Otukpo.
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Prof Emmanuel Kucha, however stated that the take off of the college has been put on hold pending the availability of funds.
He said they are currently sourcing for funds through internally-generated revenue to develop the college.
