UNIABUJA Gets Training Equipment From Egbin Power Plant



The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has just recently received a donation of a number of training equipment from the Egbin Power Plant.

Egbin Power Plc has donated specialised training equipments to engineering faculties of four Nigerian universities as a way of grooming engineers of the future.

They include University of Abuja, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the University of Ibadan.

Each of the universities recieved a heat exchanger, a facility which many engineering students and lecturers see more in maps and text books.

Speaking during the donation of the facility to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Abuja, yesterday, Chairman of Egbin Power, Kola Adesina, said that similar donations had been done to the University of Lagos, Ibadan and UNN.

He explained that, “Following the privatisation and handover of the Egbin Power Plants to the core investor, management and Board decided to overhaul the six units of the plants for ultimatum performance. As a result, certain equipments were replaced. One of them is the vessel donated to this university.”

Adesina, who was represented by Kingsley Okotie said, stressed that the facility “will help for practical demonstration of students in the faculty of engineering, to enhance knowledge and serve for research and development purposes.
