Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University (UMYU), formerly Katsina State University was established by the Katsina State Government out of the desire to improve access to higher education for its citizenry.
The law establishing the Katsina State University was passed by the Katsina State House of Assembly on 5th September 2006. The University commenced academic activities in January 2007 with three faculties(Education, Humanities & Natural and Applied Sciences), and 16 undergraduate programmes.
The university will build upon existing academic strength, a total of 13 faculties, 76 departments and 236 academic programmes (undergraduate and postgraduate) at the end of its 25 year period of it’s academic phasing, which is divided into four years each.
Mission: The mission of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University is to produce well-grounded, sound, God-fearing and entrepreneurially-minded graduates, equipped with problem-solving and other skills attuned to the demands of the 21st century environment, who can be self-employed, and whose skills and knowledge would accelerate community development in particular and nation building in general through the regular and distance education modes using information and communication technology as a tool, thereby widening access to higher education significantly.

Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina 2015/2016 Post UTME screening form for all admission-seeking candidates is now available as has been announced by the institution. All concerned aspirants and interested members of the public that wish to study in the institution are hereby notified and advised to procure their forms as soon as possible.
According the school’s management and authorities, the process of registering candidates for 2015/2016 Post UTME Screening Exercise registration has commenced in the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina. The details of the registration, cut off mark have been released likewise.

UMYU 2015/2016 Post UTME Application Procedures, Venue and Date
The school authorities and managament of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Katsina hereby wishes to duly invite all aspirants as well as prospective candidates to apply for the 2015/2016 academic session post-UTME screening exercise of the institution.
The on-line Registration for the Post UTME/DE screening will commence on Monday 27th July, 2015.
Candidates must have: (i) Scored a minimum of 180 marks in the 2014 UTME (or applied for DE);
(ii) Obtained Five (5) Credits in relevant ‘O ’ Level subjects (including English Language and Mathematics), at not more than two sittings.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
The University charges N1,000.00 (One thousand Naira) only for the CBT exercise and N2,000.00 (Two thousand Naira) only for the University processing fee.
I. Eligible Candidates should visit any commercial Bank nationwide to make payment for the purchase of a post-UTME pin-Code on eTranzact Platform and obtain the eTranzact payment Receipt.
II. Access the University website www.umyu.edu.ng click on the “Post-UTME Application” to get to the payment confirmation login page.
III. Click on the “Confirm Application Fee” and supply the Confirmation Order Number and UTME Registration Number on your eTtranzact payment Receipt, and click on the confirm button beneath the Login box.
IV. After successful login, Candidates are requested to fill in the Online Form accordingly, upload most recent passport photograph and click on the submit button.
V. On successful submission after the activity in IV above, candidates shall be prompted with the Print the acknowledgment/Screening Schedule Page – where a hard-copy output shall be produced, which shall contains the summary of the filled Bio-data, exams date, time schedules, batch number and a Photo-passport of the candidate.
The Post UTME/DE Screening Exercise is scheduled to take place from Monday 24th to Wednesday 26th August, 2015 using Computer Based Test (CBT) platform at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina.
The on-line Registration for the Post UTME/DE screening ends on Sunday 16th August, 2015.
