According to reports from NAIJ, with an eye on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Education, Innovative Telecommunications Brand, Etisalat Nigeria partnered with a non-governmental organisation, Abuja Global Shapers Community and the Governments of North-Eastern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa to provide free education support to primary school pupils in the states.
Known as the “Community School Support Programme (CSSP)” the intervention features donation of Back-to-School kits, such as school uniforms and bags to pupils drawn from 10 primary schools in the states.
This initiative is part of the company’s Community Support Programme which focuses on issues of national interest that is geared towards adding value to communities across the country.
At the official presentation of the kits to beneficiary schools, the Vice President, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Etisalat Nigeria, Ibrahim Dikko, said the partnership between Etisalat, Abuja Global Shapers Community and the state Governments is intended to enhance ongoing efforts aimed at making basic education available and sustainable.
