According to media reports from Leadership Newspapers, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Msugh Kembe stated this at the weekend while fielding questions from newsmen in Makurdi.

He said the shut down of the faculty became necessary by the Council of Legal Education and NUC because the university has not met the professional requirement.

The requirement for a fully accreditated law faculty of any universitas in the country were a well furnished mute court, law building, law clinic and library as well as proper mix of professional staff which the BSU has not met according to him.

Kembe stated that the law faculty would need N119m to construct the buildings in order to meet the council’s requirements which he, said the university cannot afford now due to the nationwide financial crunch.
