Entry Requirement for M.Sc. in Agribusiness and Management

Five O’ level credit passes obtained from any recognized examination body in not more than two sittings with the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Agriculture or Biology and any other subject from Government/History/Civic education, Principles of Accounts, Christian Religious Knowledge, Geography, etc and a B.Sc. degree in Agribusiness and Management with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on 5-point scale or 2.50 on 4-point scale from a recognized University in or outside Nigeria.

Agric. degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on 5-point scale or 2.50 on 4-point scale from a recognized University in or outside Nigeria.

Entry Requirement for Ph.D. in Agribusiness and Management

Candidates for the Ph.D. degree in Agribusiness and Management should meet the requirements for the M.Sc, degree plus a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on 5-point scale, 3.00 on a 4-point scale or 60% and above in the percentage scale.

  2. Minimum of one year industrial/administrative experience,
  3. candidates with PGD (Upper credit 3.5 upwards) maybe considered for the admission.

M.Sc.: is same as options (a) & (c) above, possession of MBA is an added advantage.

Ph.D.: is same as option (a) with CGPA of 4.00 (60%) on a five point scale and 3.5 (60%) on 4.00 scale, in a Masters Degree (M.Sc) from management related disciplines.

MOUAU Postgraduate Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into a Postgraduate programme of the University, the candidate must possess a minimum of five O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and three relevant subjects at not more than two sittings.

To be eligible for admission into the PGD programme, candidates must be holders of Third class honours first degree in a relevant discipline from any University or holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with minimum of Upper Credit in a relevant discipline. For unclassified HND Certificates, a CGPA of 3.50 (5-point scale) and 3.00 (4-point scale) or 60% shall be taken as equivalent to Upper Credit.

To be eligible for admission into the Master’s degree programme, candidates must:


(B) MASTER’S (M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Eng.)

Be graduates of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike or any other recognized University by Senate and should have obtained a first degree with at least Second Class Honours (3.00 and above on 5-point scale and 2.50 on 4-point scale).

Possess the Higher National Diploma (HND), with at least Upper Credit and Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution and

Have any other certificate or qualification that may be acceptable to Senate.


To be eligible for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy degree programme, a candidate should have obtained a Master’s degree which includes course work and research from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike or its equivalent from any other University recognized by Senate in relevant disciplines, with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 4.00 (5- point scale), 3.00 (4-point scale) or 60% in percentage scale.

How to Apply for MOUAU Postgraduate Admission

Interested candidates should obtain application forms ONLINE by visiting www.mouau.edu.ng and click on the Postgraduate Application button. This links to a 2-stage application process. Candidates are advised to read the guidelines described carefully and follow the process to complete the application. An application fee of eighteen thousand naira (N18,000.00) will be paid to the University through the Remita platform www.remita.net as described in the guidelines. Once payment is successfully concluded, candidate visits the MOUAU Portal at (www.mouauportal.edu.ng) to complete Stage 2 of the application process.

After submitting the online form, candidates are expected to print the Transcript Application Label that will be displayed and forward same to the Institution from where they earned their qualifying degree(s). Completed application forms and all relevant documents should be enclosed in the PG File obtainable from PG Room F2 and returned to:

Admission Screening Test

All candidates applying to the University for PG programmes in the 2019/2020 academic session are hereby informed that the PG admission screening test in the CBT mode has been scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2020 at 9.00 am – 4.00 pm at the University E-Test Center.
