Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for the 2020/2021 Academic Session:

AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES:

The following programmes are available on Regular basis for two academic sessions.

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) (FULL TIME) PROGRAMMES (TWO SESSIONS)

NB: Prospective candidates are expected to indicate their areas of interest (i.e. options)

    1. Statistics
    2. Science Laboratory Technology with options in Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics with Electronics and Biochemistry.
    3. Hospitality Management.
  2. INSTITUTE OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
    1. Architectural Technology.
    2. Building Technology.
    3. Estate Management.
    4. Quantity Surveying.
    5. Urban & Regional Planning.
    6. Surveying and Geoinformatics.
  3. INSTITUTE OF FINANCE & MANAGEMENT STUDIES
    1. Accountancy

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) (PART-TIME) PROGRAMMES (THREE SESSIONS)

The following programmes are available on Part-Time basis only for three academic sessions:

    4. Urban & Regional Planning.
  3. INSTITUTE OF FINANCE & MANAGEMENT STUDIES

    2. Banking & Finance.
    3. Business Administration and Management.

    6. Purchasing & Supply.
  4. INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
    1. Computer Science.
    2. Office Technology & Management.
  5. INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
    1. Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology
    2. Electrical / Electronics Engineering Technology
    3. Mechanical Engineering Technology
    4. Civil Engineering Technology
    5. Mining Engineering Technology
    6. Metallurgical Engineering Technology

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for admission into the HND programmes will be required to have the following qualifications:

  1. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) PROGRAMMES
    1. National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant field and five relevant O/L credit passes at WASC, GCE, NECO and NABTEB at not more than two sittings. These credit passes must include English Language and Mathematics.
    2. Evidence of one year post – National Diploma (ND) cognate experience (i.e. Industrial Training)
    3. Applicants with Pass Grade in the National Diploma (ND) will be required to have at least two years Post-National Diploma industrial experience.
    4. Applicants for Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Post-Harvest Technology option) are required to have at least a Lower Credit grade at National Diploma (ND) programme in any of the following:
      • Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology
      • Agricultural Technology
      • Food Science and Technology
      • Agricultural Engineering Technology
    5. Applicants for Metallurgical Engineering Technology are expected to be graduates of National Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering Technology only.
    6. Applicants for Mining Engineering Technology are expected to be graduates of National Diploma in Mineral Resources or Mining Engineering Technology only.
    7. Holders of ND Computer Engineering are not admissible into HND Electrical / Electronics Engineering Technology and HND Computer Science Programmes.
    8. Candidates will not be admitted into HND programmes different from those they had in their ND programmes.
    9. Holders of ND Mass Communication will not be admitted into HND Public Administration.
    10. IT IS MANDATORY FOR HND FULL TIME APPLICANTS TO FILL THE JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBERS USED FOR THEIR ND PROGRAMMES. ONLY APPLICANTS WITH JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBERS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.
  2. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PROGRAMMES (PART-TIME)
    1. Applicants for admission into Part-Time National Diploma (ND) programmes will be required to have a minimum of five O/L Credits in relevant subjects at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB at not more than two sittings.
    2. CREDIT PASSES IN MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARE COMPULSORY FOR ALL APPLICANTS SEEKING ADMISSION INTO ANY PROGRAMME IN THE POLYTECHNIC. IN ADDITION, THE OTHER THREE SUBJECTS MUST BE RELEVANT TO THE COURSE OF CHOICE.

How to Apply Kwara Poly HND Admission

  1. Applicants awaiting results will not be considered for admission.
  2. All applications attract a fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) exclusive of bank and other charges.
  3. All payments for application should be made through ‘College Pay’ using your Debit Card, Master Card, or Prepaid Card.
  4. All applications close on September 26th, 2020.
  5. Applicants sitting for the 2020 November/December Ordinary Level Examinations are not eligible for admission
