JAMB Has Software To Reduce The Possibility Of Guessing Answers Correctly

Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB PRO has disclosed that the board ahead of the 2016 UTME had invested in the training and acquisitions of softwares that will reduce the possibility of candidates guessing answers correctly.

In his words, “Technically, what we were using before to test students was what we called Classical Test Theory, but now we have adopted what we call Item Response Theory. The difference is that the Item Response Theory reduces the percentage of guessing. The tendency for students to guess and guess right is minimal with this software.”

With this development, Candidates who are experts in guessing answers to questions during examinations, may find it hard to cope unless they studied hard.

According to JAMB, candidates will have a graphical result of the test sent to their phone numbers 30 minutes after the examination and the actual result sent to them within four days.

Beware! JAMB May Actually Be Using An Anti-Guessing Software

Victor – I wish to inform all JAMB candidates that are yet to participate in the on-going UTME that what JAMB called anti-guessing software could be real after all.

Why do I say so? I am a victim of it. When my result was sent, I scored 176. This is not because I am dull but I think it has something to do with the so called anti- guessing software.

I think this is how it works; if you choose an answer, it will be saved and if you later change it, some marks will be deducted from your score.

So I will advise all candidates to select an answer once and never change it. If you want to guess, just guess once. This is just my Observation based on my experience. If you have noticed this too please comment and share your facts
