JAMB Admission Policy Meeting for 2018 admissions will be broadcast on NTA live, according to JAMB’s Head of Media. Dr Fabian Benjamin, while speaking yesterday ahead of the 2018 JAMB Policy Meeting Scheduled to hold on June 26th, 2018 which happens to be today, has disclosed that the proceedings of the meeting will be televised live on NTA from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
For the first time, the meeting will be held in the South-West region of the country (Osun State). The policy meeting is expected to have in attendance all the stakeholders including heads of all tertiary institutions in the country as well as South-West State Governors.
Dr Fabian has disclosed that there will be a live coverage of the meeting on NTA from 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m, so that Nigerians can follow the proceedings and also be able to get first-hand information on how the admission would be conducted, especially the requirements needed.
He also disclosed that the determined objective of the board is to ensure that every prospective candidate is treated fairly and equally under a transparent platform. Dr. Benjamin also mentioned that this year’s admission will be conducted through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) as it was done last year.
In the policy meeting, crucial 2018 admission guidelines, including the determination of the official 2018 Admission Cut-off Marks for various institutions will be determined.
Mr. Fabian Benjamin, had earlier cautioned institutions that advertised admission into their schools before this meeting, stating that they had breached the constitutional guidelines for admissions. He stated that “a list of institutions that breached this rule are being compiled by the board and to be forwarded to the appropriate body for sanction.”
He added that institutions planning to advertise admission before this policy meeting, should suspend such actions, pointing out that the policy meeting is being held early enough in the year to allow plenty of time for schools to conclude the 2018/2019 Admissions on time.
As it stands, all attention has been focused on today’s meeting for the official release of Cut-Off Marks for 2018 Admission.
