IMSU School Fees Have Not Been Increased – Management Says

The management of Imo State University has reiterated that IMSU school fees (ancillary fees) has and will not be increased for the 2019/2020 academic session. The media has been awash with reports that the Emeka Ihedioha-led administration had increased the state school school fees to N70,000 for indigenes.

Solidifying this reaction the Head of Students Account, IMSU Bursary department, Dr. Emmanuel Esomonu Chimezirim stated that the IMSU school fees for undergraduates in the 2019/2020 academic session remains N29,500 (excluding surcharges) for indigenes. He maintained that no increase has been made to that effect and that students should carry on payment for the school fees duly.

He also warned Imo Stars to beware of touts as IMSU doesn’t charge for confirmation of online payments.

To this end, IMSU school fees for the 2019/2020 academic session for all levels (100-finals) remain N29,500 (excluding surcharges), N181,000 (including surcharges) for non-indigenes in faculties as Law, Engineering and Health Sciences while non-indigenes in other faculties school fees remains pegged at N151,000 (including surcharges).

Meanwhile, IMSU has adopted the Interswitch (Quickteller) e-transact company for her electronic payments, transfer and transactions as the school continue the expansion of her digital frontier.

The Interswitch (Quickteller) platform will replace Remita. As at the time of filing this report the Interswitch (Quickteller) platform has been effected for payment of acceptance and school fees. Other payments type yet to be effected will follow suit in the coming days or use both platforms concurrently.
