Group to FG – Declare State Of Emergency In Nigeria’s Education Sector

According to media reports, the University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) is urging the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the nation’s education sector to facilitate production of high quality manpower for the industry and entrepreneurship.

The group, in a Communiqué issued at the end of 2016 Annual Re-union National Conference of Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) held at Ile-Ife, Osun State and signed by the national president, Engineer Waheed Odeyimka noted that the present government must strive to put the country on the right track.

The Muslim graduates at the Conference whose theme was “Sustainable National Development: A Challenge to the Muslim Ummah’’ affirmed that Nigeria must deploy conscious and concerted efforts in order to actualise sustainable development goals.

They said, “Nigeria should declare a state of emergency in the educational sector to facilitate production of high quality manpower for the industry and entrepreneurship. That Nigeria should strive to improve significantly on all the major rankings so that Nigeria can reclaim its lost glory.”

“For the business environment to thrive government should provide the enabling environment that will focus on issues of power, infrastructural and human capital development. That employment opportunity should be given to teeming unemployed youths who are being used as instruments of violence by some selfish and unpatriotic individuals.”
