Federal University Lokoja (FULokoja) Joint Action Committee (JAC), has dissociated itself from a publication in one of the National Newspaper of Monday May 9, 2016 (not leadership) credited to a non-Government group under the aegis of Concerned Citizens for Education Development (CCED) alleging that the new Vice Chancellor of the university has continued to make illegal appointments.

This was contained in a press statement that was jointly signed by the chairmen of ASUU, SSANU, NAAT and NASU which was made available to the media in Lokoja yesterday.
According to the statement, which read in part noted “We want to state emphatically here that no such illegal appointments have been made by the Vice Chancellor as far as we know.
“On the contrary, the Vice Chancellor has taken practical steps to address past administrative infractions brought to her attention by staff unions in the University and therefore should be commended for her efforts.”
The statement explained that the recent appointment of the deputy Vice Chancellor which is their bone of contention followed due process as the Senate of the University at its 32nd extraordinary meeting held on Tuesday 22nd March, 2016 conducted an election keenly contested by two nominees for the position.
It stated that the winner was recommended to the Governing Council for ratification which was ratified by second council at its 1st meeting held on 23rd March, 2016.
