Those of us that are either students or members of staff of the UNILORIN should know of the Deputy Bursar, Mr. Oyeniyi Badmus. As of yesterday, a press release was made informing us that he has been appointed as the new bursar of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
For those of us that don’t know, a bursar is a professional financial administrator in a school or university. The Bursar’s Office is responsible for the billing of student tuition and fees. In addition to collecting and posting payments on students’ records, the Office also coordinates the rental and accomodation payments for the Residence Halls and Hostels, the distribution of student financial aid checks and school grants, and provides customer service to students.

The Deputy Bursar, University of Ilorin, Mr. Bashir Oyeniyi Badmus, has been appointed Bursar of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
In the appointment letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. MacJohn Nwaobiala, Mr. Badmus was informed that the appointment, which is for a single term of five years, takes effect from May 4, 2015.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), who also holds an LL.B degree in Law, Mr. Badmus joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 2002 after serving as Chief Internal Auditor of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria between 1994 and 2002.He had earlier served as Chief Accountant of Durbar Hotels Plc, Kaduna between 1991 and 1994.
Born on November 27, 1958 in Offa, Kwara State, the new Bursar, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, is married and blessed with children.
In his reaction to Mr. Badmus’ appointment, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, said, “May I thank the Almighty Allah for the good news and congratulate you for your patience and perseverance. This is a perfect demonstration of Allah’s benevolence to we humans. Once we believe in him, he will surely answer our prayers. It’s all a matter of time.”
