Fed Poly Nekede Supplementary Post UTME Admission Form for 2021/2022 Session

Prospective students who scored 140 and above in 2021 UTME are hereby informed that vacancies exit into the National Diploma (ND) Regular Programmes in the following New Departments.

ND Animal Health & Production Technology

ND Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology

ND Printing Technology


 The entry requirements for all National Diploma (ND) Programmes are as follows:

  • Five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or NABTEB (O’level Examinations).
  • Possession of Appropriate JAMB subjects Combination for the course applied for.
  • For details on entry requirements peculiar to each of the courses above, candidates should visit the Polytechnic website www.fpno.edu.ng.


       1. Visit Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri website https://fpno.edu.ng

       2.  Click on apply for admissions

  • Select your programme type
  • Generate Invoice for application form
  • Pay Invoice at the Bank or online with your ATM/Debit Card

Proceed to any bank of your choice and make a payment of N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) only using Remita Number (RRR).  You can also choose to make your payment using your VERVE, VISA or MASTER CARD. If you choose the card payment option, you will be asked to fill the card details for the payment to be processed immediately.

  • Proceed to fill the Application form
  • On completing the application form, print your acknowledgment slip.
  • Click to pay for O’level verification.
  • Print O’level Verification Certificate (To verify if the O’level verification is successful or not and to verify if there is any need for correction and re-verification).
  • All application procedures MUST be concluded on or before 12.00 (midnight) of 28th February, 2022.
  • Applicants can start and complete this process from any location in the country.  It is therefore advisable to minimize trips to Owerri for the purpose of completing the form.

NOTE:  Candidates who chose our institution as 2nd or 3rd choice must change to Federal Polytechnic Nekede as their first choice before they will be considered for admission and also note that any wrong information given disqualifies the candidate.




English Language, Biology/Agric.Sci, Chemistry and any other subject from Geography, Economics, Building Engineering Drawing/Engineering Drawing/Technical Drawing, Physics

Credit passes in English Language, 

Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science,  Chemistry and any one of the following : Geography, Economics, Building  Engineering Drawing/Engineering Drawing/Technical Drawing, Physics, Computer Studies/ICT/Data Processing, Civic Education. Animal Husbandry, Statistics, Fishery.





English Language, Mathematics, Physics/Technical Drawing and Chemistry.

Credit passes in English Language, 

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one of the following: Metal Work /General Metal Works, Wood Work, Technical Drawing/Building Engineering Drawing/Engineering Drawing , Basic  Electronics/Electricity, Economics, Statistics, Further Mathematics, Biology/Agric.Science. Computer Studies/ICT/Data Processing.





English Language, any three of Sciences, Social Sciences or Arts subjects.

Credit passes in English Language, 

Mathematics, any basic Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and any two other from Computer Science, ICT, Data Processing, Graphics Design, Photography, Technical Drawing, Visual/Fine arts, Music, Picture making, Business Management, Printing Craft Practice, Radio, Television and Electronics Work Practice, Chemistry, Economics, Commerce, Applied Electricity, GSM Phones Maintenance & Repairs. Basic Electronics, Civic Education, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Government, Literature in English, CRK, any one Language.

Earlier: Fed Poly Nekede Post UTME Eligibility Criteria

All 2021/2022 UTME candidates who applied to Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri as Institution of First or Second choice with a UTME score of 140 or above are requested to forward online to www.fpno.edu.ng the following particulars:

(a) O’level Result (WASSCE, NECO or NABTEB).

(b) 2021/2022 UTME Score

(c) JAMB Subject combination for the course applied.

In addition, a Screening fee of (N2.000.00) Two thousand Naira only should be paid on the Remita platform at any commercial bank nationwide.

Duration: All submissions and payments must be completed on or before 30 November 2021.

NOTE: Candidates who used our institution as 2 or 3 choice must go to JAMB website and change to Federal Polytechnic Nekede as their first choice before they will be considered for admission. They should also note that any wrong information given disqualifies the candidate.

About Fed Poly Nekede

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede Owerri started in 1978 as the College of Technology, Owerri. It was established by the Imo State Government through Edict No.16 of April 1978. It took off at its temporary site at the premises of Government Technical College (GTC), Owerri along Egbu Road in the same year.

In 1981, the institution moved to its present and permanent location at Nekede in Owerri.

By the Imo State Government Edict No.6 of 1987, the name of the institution was changed to, “The Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri.” Six years after and precisely on 7th April 1993, the Federal Government had it renamed again to, “The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri”.


The Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri is regulated by the Federal Polytechnics Act (CAP 139) of 1979. The functions of the Polytechnic as provided for in Section 2(1) of the Act are as follows:

A. To provide full-time or part-time courses on instruction and training in: i. Technology, Applied science, Commerce and Management ii. Such other fields of applied learning relevant to the needs of the development of Nigeria in areas such as industrial and agricultural production and distribution, research, development and adaption of technique as the council may from time to time determine.

B. To arrange conferences, seminars and study groups relative to the fields of learning specified in paragraph(a) of this subsection(1)

C. To perform such functions as in the opinion of the council, may serve to promote the objectives of the polytechnic. Conscious of the objectives for which the polytechnic was established, it adopted the Motto, “Knowledge and skill for service”, right from its inception in 1978. It has vigorously pursued its objectives.
