About BSUM

Benue State University was established by the Benue State Government with the enactment of the Benue State University Edict No. 1 of 1991.

The University took off in the 1992/93 academic year with four faculties, namely, Arts, Education, Science and Social Sciences. Two Faculties, Law and Management Sciences came on stream in the 1993/94 academic year.

A post graduate school took off in the 1998/1999 academic year while the College of Health Sciences was established in the 2003/2004 academic session.

The University took off Nineteen years ago during the tenure of Late Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu as Executive Governor of Benue State. Adasu, therefore became the first Visitor of the University.

BSUM 2015/2016 Post Utme Form Information

Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) 2015/2016 Post UTME screening form for all admission-seeking candidates is now available as has been announced by the institution. All concerned aspirants and interested members of the public that wish to study in the institution are hereby notified and advised to procure their forms as soon as possible.

According the school’s management and authorities, the process of registering candidates for 2015/2016 Post UTME Screening Exercise registration has commenced in the Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM). The details of the registration, cut off mark have been released likewise.

BSUM 2015/2016 Post UTME Application Procedures, Venues and Dates

Benue State University, Makurdi (BSUM) wishes to inform all UTME candidates who have applied for admission into the  for the 2015/2016 academic session that the Post UTME Screening form is out.

Eligibility Criteria:

UTME candidates must have scored not less than the indicated minimum scores for various courses in the UTME as shown below:

Candidates shall be required to:

Pay a non-Refundable fee to Benue State University, Makurdi Online in any of the designated banks using their UTME Registration Number as follows:
Screening fee – N1,000.00
Processing fee – N1,500.00
Total –  N2,500.00

Using your UTME Registration No. proceed to register Online for the Post UTME screening exercise from 27th July. Proceed with the Online registration on and Print-out registration slip.

Take Slip and receipt of payment to the Faculty of your programme of choice for documentation and signing by the Dean of the Faculty.

Produce JAMB UTME Online Result Slip with a recent passport photograph affixed to be submitted during the Screening Exercise.


The University has scheduled its Post UTME Screening Exercise to hold at the University campus along Makurdi – Gboko road as follows:

1.Commencement of online registrationMonday, 27th July, 2015
2.Closure of online registration12 midnight, 11th August, 2015
3.Date of Screening ExerciseThursday, 13th – Friday, 14th August, 2015

Candidates are to note that the screening exercise shall be conducted using OMR paper and pencil. Candidates are advised to come along with HB Pencil and also adhere strictly to their choice of programmes at UTME.

BSU Post-UTME 2015 Eligibility Details Updated

The Benue State University has made changes on eligibility of candidates to participate in the 2015/2016 post-UTME.

Candidates who applied for MB.BS and Law are to note, however, that only those who scored 200 and above are eligible.

Candidates for MB.BS programme who scored below 200 but got less than 180 shall be allowed to sit for the Post UTME Screening Exercise in any of B.Sc Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Management & Toxicology, Microbiology, Zoology and Plant Science & Biotechnology.

For candidates who applied for Law but scored less than 200 and not less than 180, they shall be allowed to sit for the Post UTME Screening Exercise in other courses as appropriate.
