The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Garba cordially invites the general public to the 41st Convocation Ceremonies of the university for the conferment of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Honourary Degrees.

ABU Convocation Ceremony Schedule:

Date: Saturday, 27th April, 2019.

Time: 10:00AM Prompt.

Venue: Mamman Kontagora Square, ABU Main Campus, Samaru.

The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria awarded First Class degrees to 49 students at its 39th convocation ceremony held on Saturday, 26th November 2016.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, mentioned that 11,731 students graduated, 2,697 students obtained Masters degree while 289 were awarded PhD degree.

President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abdulrasheed Abubakar, urged ABU to pay more attention to agricultural researches, he added that a visitation panel would soon be constituted to rid universities of corruption and also look into the financial management of the institutions, including statutory allocations and the internally generated funds for the period under review.

He appealed to the management of all Nigerian universities to ensure best practices in conducting the affairs of institutions. He also commended the Ahmadu Bello University for being outstanding in the maintenance of federal character in the composition of its staff and students
