How do I know if I’m eligible for the scholarship?

We are looking for applications from exceptional students who are seriously committed to pushing the boundaries of engineering, students who are excited about the prospect of working with some of the world’s leading researchers and who aspire to be the best in their profession. The high value of this award reflects the University’s aim to attract the best students from around the world and to support them during their study.

You can apply for this scholarship if you:

  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes AND
  • already hold an offer to start a full-time PhD research degree programme at our Nottingham campus with a start date that falls between 01 October 2019 and 01 February 2020 (inclusive) in the Faculty of Engineering AND
  • have a first-class undergraduate degree or an MSc with distinction in a relevant subject; work experience, journal papers published and other esteem indicators (prizes, top-in-class etc.) will be considered

It is important that you state on your scholarship application the specific topic you are interested in researching and why. Applications listing broad fields of research eg ‘civil engineering’ or ‘mechanical engineering’ rarely get supported.

University of Nottingham is proud to be offering full tuition fee scholarships in conjunction with Developing Solutions Scholarship Scheme. Founded in 2001, Developing Solutions is The University of Nottingham’s flagship international scholarship programme for  postgraduate masters courses.

  • already hold an offer to start a full-time masters degree programme, including MRes, at Nottingham for September 2019 in an area of study within the:
    • Faculty of Engineering,
    • Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences,
    • Faculty of Science,
    • Faculty of Social Science
  • Priority is given to candidates who have not previously studied outside of their home country. Students currently studying in the UK are not eligible to apply.

University of Nottingham (Malaysia Campus) Developing Solutions Scholarship Details and FAQs

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus is a franchised branch campus of the University of Nottingham majority owned by Boustead Holdings Sdn Bhd. The university is situated in Semenyih, Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia.

The Developing Solutions Scholarship Fund will reach out to students who have the potential to make a real difference to the development and prosperity of their home countries.

Ten awards of 100% tuition fee scholarships are available for students from the developing and third world countries registering for taught Masters programmes at Malaysia Campus in areas related to science, technology and education, including the following courses below.

How do I know if I’m eligible for the scholarship?

In order to apply for one of these scholarships, candidate must;

  • be holding an unconditional offer letter and accepted the offer by paying RM2,000 for full time Masters degree programme at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus for 2018/19 intakes. Copy of unconditional offer letter and acceptance form must be attached together with the application.
  • be classified as an ‘overseas’ student for fee purposes.
  • have at least 1 full year working experience after completion of undergraduate programme. Fresh graduates will not be considered.
  • complete our scholarship application form online. Please take note only completed form with all supporting documents will be considered.
  • current students and graduates of UNMC will not be considered for this scholarship as to give new students an opportunity.
  • only complete applications and meet the above requirements will be entertained.
