About Institution

The Johns Hopkins University is an American private research university in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1876, the university was named for its first benefactor, the American entrepreneur, abolitionist, and philanthropist Johns Hopkins. His $7 million bequest—of which half financed the establishment of Johns Hopkins Hospital—was the largest philanthropic gift in the history of the United States at that time. Daniel Coit Gilman, who was inaugurated as the institution’s first president on February 22, 1876, led the university to revolutionize higher education in the U.S. by integrating teaching and research. Adopting the concept of a graduate school from Germany’s ancient Heidelberg University, Johns Hopkins University is considered the first research university in the United States.

Scholarship Details

The Johns Hopkins University is awarding MPH Tuition Scholarships to interested applicants who are willing to study for a degree program at the Institution.

This scholarship program is created to produce graduates of responsible character with the necessary knowledge and skills.

Eligible Countries: Syria, South Sudan, Afghanistan, or Somalia

Host Country: USA

Course Level: Masters

Eligible Field Of Study: Public Health (MPH)

Value Of Scholarships: The scholarship will cover full tuition for the 11-month program of study.

Number Of Scholarships: One scholarship is available.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must:

  • be Citizens of the above mentioned countries
  • have completed their bachelors degree program
  • have applied or applying for MPH program
  • have good academic programs
  • be proficient in English Language

How to Apply for the Scholarship

International Applicants from Afghanistan, South Sudan and Somalia can apply for waivers for the SOPHAS application
