Daily Trust Foundation Scholarship Details and FAQs
Daily Trust, one of the two largest circulating newspapers in Nigeria, began publishing in 1998 and has seen commendable growth in its investigative reporting over the years. The Daily Trust Foundation was established in 2016 to provide scholarships to promising young journalists and women enrolled in medical schools, and finance economic empowerment projects and humanitarian services.
With this award, the Daily Trust Foundation is building the capacity of journalists, media professionals, and students to conduct high-quality investigative work and to use technology to present the results in compelling ways.
This project is expected to help to educate the public and key stakeholders on corruption issues, including those in the education and electricity sectors. In this endeavor, the Daily Trust Foundation is collaborating with other Foundation grantees. The award is part of a package of awards on the theme of strengthening the capacity of investigative and data-driven journalism in Nigeria.
Daily Trust Foundation hereby requests for applications from suitably qualified candidates for its Female Medical Students Scholarship Scheme for 2018/2019 Academic Session.

What are the required qualifications?
To qualify for the scholarship award, applicant must fulfill the following conditions:
- Medical Student (MBBS)
- Must be in 200 level
- Must have passed level examination
- Must be a student of:
- Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto State
- University of Ilorin, Kwara State or
- University of Maiduguri, Borne State.
How to Apply for the Daily Trust Foundation Scholarship Scheme
Interested and qualified candidates are to collect “Application Forms” from their University Medical College Secretary’s Office or Media Trust Office in their states, fill appropriately and attach passport, photocopies of admission letter, I.D Card, Certificate of Origin and Course Registration Form for Current Academic Session.
