The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has awarded a scholarship of N50,000 each to one hundred and eighty (180) best students, who distinguished themselves and performed well at the 2017/2018 academic session. This is to enable the students to use the money to pay for the registration fees of the current academic session.
According to a letter signed by the Director, Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR), Hajiya Amina Umar Abdullahi, the Senate Business Committee (SBC) had earlier met between 4th and 13th March, 2019 to consider the second-semester results and at the meeting approved the scholarship awards to the beneficiary students.
The distribution of the scholarship awards shows that Faculty of Allied Health Science has the highest number with 21 beneficiaries, followed by Arts and Islamic Studies and Engineering with 12 apiece. Education has 16; Management Science and Social Sciences 15 each, while Physical Science has 13. Basic Medical Science has 10 beneficiaries; Life Science (10); Communication (8) and Computer Science and Information Technology (6) make a comprehensive list of the best students for the last session.
