About the University of British Columbia (UBC) Doctoral Scholarships for International Students
Applications are currently ongoing for the 2017/2018 University of British Columbia (UBC) Doctoral Scholarships. The University of British Columbia (UBC) in association with Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies is offering the Killam Doctoral Scholarship to top doctoral candidates. Killam Doctoral Scholarships are the most prestigious awards available to graduate students at UBC.

To be eligible to apply for Killam Doctoral Scholarship funding, applicants must have completed no more than 24 months of doctoral study as of the start date of the scholarship. Therefore, applicants to the fall 2016 competition must have completed no more than 24 months of doctoral study as of September 1, 2017.
Candidates will be evaluated as per Affiliated Fellowships. Top students in the competition are awarded the Killam Doctoral Scholarships.
Value of Scholarship
$30,000 per annum and a $2,000 allowance for research-related travel during the 24 months of the scholarship.
How to Apply
Submit your application materials to the College of Graduate Studies. Please note that students who submit a NSERC doctoral or a SSHRC doctoral award application to the College of Graduate Studies and are successfully forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (G+PS), are automatically considered for Killam Doctoral Scholarship funding. These students do not need to submit a separate Affiliated Fellowship application.
