Introduction

LaunchLab together with Nedbank will be engaging on an exclusive Fintech & Big Data Challenge which will run from mid-August to October 2016.

Fintech & Big Data

This challenge will consist of:

  • Challenge Workshop
  • Entering Pitches
  • Pitching Platform Final

Challenge Workshop

A workshop was hosted at the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab from 16:00-18:00 on 16 August 2016 to allow us to engage with the Fintech & Big Data Startup Community.

We recorded this workshop and will post the video shortly.

Specifically, Nedbank is specifically looking for new business ideas that address:

  • Enhancing client experiences using connected devices (IoT)
  • New ways to utilise mobile technology to further promote financial inclusion
  • Innovative methods to on-board and activate new clients (e.g. remote client verification)
  • Platforms to promote money transfers or fundraising for small business e.g. crowd-funding and peer-to-peer lending
  • New opportunities to leverage ATM devices for increased client activity
  • Incorporate gamification to entice deeper client engagement with banking products

Pitching Platform
