Is the Google AdSense Program like making money for nothing? Well, not quite. Google’s AdSense Pay-Per-Click Advertising Program is a revenue-sharing opportunity for small, medium and large web sites and blogs that places ads for goods and services that are relevant to the content of their sites, targeted to the people who frequently visit their pages. As a website publisher, you get paid a small amount when the ad is either displayed on your page, or clicked on. Google AdSense is the Google program where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Website. When someone clicks the ads you have placed on your site, you earn money. Yeah, it’s that simple. Is it really as easy to make money with Google AdSense as many would want you to believe? Though, it’s a simple process, it really does require some amount of work.
A lot of website publishers have bought into the idea that there is a lot of easy money to be made and they are now finding out they aren’t making nearly as much as they presumed they would. Additionally, Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to AdSense, and too many Webmasters and publishers are finding out they have violated Google’s policies after which they get banned from the program. Reason often being that they never bothered to read the AdSense policies in the first place. Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their Websites must also comply with Google’s webmaster policies. Now you can earn a share of the revenue that Google earns from Google AdWords by displaying these same text or image ads on your site. When someone clicks, you earn roughly 50% of the click and Google gets the rest. Though that is an assumed figure because Google does not reveal the amount they pay their pay their publishers from they receive from AdWords advertisers.
The Google AdSense Pay-Per-Click Advertising Program is not a get-rich-quick scheme and it takes a lot of work to make money. Don’t think that just by joining, you are guaranteed to make big money. I was a victim of this school of thought when I joined the AdSense Program and was greatly disappointed until I discovered how much work needed to be put into it in order to reap quality income. This is not to discourage you but to implore you to be patient while you work to make money from the Google AdSense Program. Trust me, the hard work does pay in the long run. Join me on the ride:

How Does The Google AdSense Program Work?

The process is quite simple as earlier mentioned. You simply display ads on your website(s) and other permitted platforms such as Youtube channel videos and get paid when people click and sometimes just view the ad – though, this depends on how many people view the ads genuinely – (usually it’s mostly clicks, though).

How Much Can I Earn With The Google AdSense Program?

The commission you receive per click depends on how much advertisers who advertise with Google AdWords are paying Google for the particular ad. You will earn a share of that amount – roughly 50% (as earlier described). Publishers can earn as low as 2 cents and as high as $15 per click on the AdSense Program. Getting over $1 is probably very rare, although it does happen from time to time depending on the ads displayed on your site (that is determined by your website content). However, you will find that most of your earnings will be on the lower end of the spectrum.

It’s important to note that one cannot estimate how much he or she will earn based on site traffic. People always want to know what the average amount is per click. No one knows the answer to this except Google, so don’t let anyone try to tell you any differently. It would be impossible for myself or any AdSense publisher to give this information because the ads all cost different prices and we have no idea what advertisers are paying. We can only get suggested bids that top advertisers pay by using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool Planner, but that tool does not still tell exactly what all advertisers will pay because advertisers pay on the basis of their budgets and what they are willing to spend for a specified period of time.

In What Niches Can I Earn Most?

There are some niches that pay more. It is logical for most publishers to believe that keyword phrases like sex, make money, etc. may earn you more per click since these are highly competitive keywords that are searched for quite a bit on more than others. But really, advertisers pay more when they will likely sell their business products from the visits the clicks bring. So, keywords like injury insurance, law firms, online education, online colleges, auto insurance and many others that will involve visitors from the clicks paying substantially high for offered goods and services are high paying keywords on Google AdWords. You can use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool Planner to study keywords in your niche that are highly searched for and at the same time have high suggested bids for advertisers.

The more competitive and rewarding to the advertisers the search term, the more the advertisers pay and the more you earn as a publisher.

Even though Google will not reveal how much you are earning for each ad that is clicked from your site, you can still login to your account at any time and see the total amount of revenue you’ve generated that day, week, month, year, etc. For example, if you see that you’ve made $12.60 today from 9 clicks then you can calculate that your average click-thru commission was $1.40 per click.  That’s as detailed as their stats will get.  Also remember, that’s only an average.  You won’t know how much each specific ad brought in.

The amount you’ll earn also depends largely on the amount of targeted traffic you receive to your own site i.e. how well the ads match your audience’s interests, website content, the placement of the ads on your pages, and of course the amount you receive per click. Ideally, you should create a site on a topic you know a lot about, that way you’ll have a much easier time creating a generous amount of content on that subject, but that’s not to say you cannot write on something you do not know much about. If you are good at doing research and making your conclusions as well as getting your own unique point of view, then you can as well as write on other topics if you so wish.

Remember, the Google AdSense Program is not a guarantee that you will get rich quick and in a short because it take time to set up a quality site and enrich it with quality and unique content. But trust me, a quality and unique website is an asset in the long run as you can as much as three to four digits (in dollars) and even more in a month from the Google AdSense Program and earn even more money from other really viable online opportunities.
