JAMB Admission Points Calculator: How Likely are You to Get Admission?

Disclaimer:

Please be informed that the results of this admission points calculator are based on JAMB's admission screening model designed so that institutions can admit students without Post-UTME. Also, we use the cut-off marks that schools like University of Ibadan (UI), University of Lagos (UNILAG) and University of Nigeria (UNN) used for their 2016/2017 admission screening exercise to calculate your chance of securing admission. This is because we assume that if you can meet up with the cut-off marks of these schools, you can get admission into almost any other school. There is no guarantee however, that institutions will use this model in totality to admit students. In fact, the results of this calculator does not guarantee that you will be given admission.

Find Out Your Chances of Securing Admission

Please ensure you select an answer for each of the following five questions so that your admission points can be calculated correctly.

1. Did you write your NECO, WAEC or GCE in one sitting?

2. What did you score in your JAMB?

3. Out of the five relevant and necessary subjects for the course you chose in JAMB, how many A's did you have?

Hint: Check the WAEC, NECO or GCE results for the one or two sittings you have and find out how many subjects out of the five necessary subjects were A1. The five subjects required by most schools are usually the four subjects you wrote in JAMB and an additional relevant subject for the course.

4. Out of the five relevant and necessary subjects for the course you chose in JAMB, how many B's did you have?

Hint: Check the WAEC, NECO or GCE results for the one or two sittings you have and find out how many subjects out of the five necessary subjects were B2 and B3. The five subjects required by most schools are usually the four subjects you wrote in JAMB and an additional relevant subject for the course.

5. Out of the five relevant and necessary subjects for the course you chose in JAMB, how many C's did you have?

Hint: Check the WAEC, NECO or GCE results for the one or two sittings you have and find out how many subjects out of the five necessary subjects were C4, C5 and C6. The five subjects required by most schools are usually the four subjects you wrote in JAMB and an additional relevant subject for the course.

6. Which course did you apply or register for during your UTME registration?

Note: If you do not see your course on the list, then find a course most closely related to your course and select it.

7. Which of the following types of institutions did you apply for admission into?

am I good to go biochemistry in uniuyo

    1. Joy, you need to use the calculator yourself first to see your admission points and chances. Just use your O’level results for five subjects (English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths or any other science subject that was good) on the calculator.
The good thing is that since you have up to 180 in your UTME, you can apply for the admission screening.

    1. Your admission points is 58 and you have a 72% chance of getting admission. Even though you have good results, 72% is not a guarantee for Law in UNILAG. The course is really competitive in UNILAG so the cut-off is high. So you have to hope and pray.

    1. It’s going to be based on points. The percentage is just to let you know how likely you are to get the admission with the points you have on a scale of 1 to 100%.

can someone get admitted into Unical with nebteb result??

    1. Yes, you should. The Federal Government has endorsed Certificates awarded by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) for admission to Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. No university and polytechnic in the country has the right to reject or discriminate against certificates issued by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

  • Happygirl

mine is 81% 62points… i choose mass com but i want to change to Law since my chances are high…will UNN admit me??

    1. Law is much more competitive. 81% is high for Mass Communication. I’m sure if you try recalculating your chances using Law instead, it will reduce. So in my opinion, if you change, you will surely have less chances of getting admitted.

    1. Peter, you have a good chance especially considering catchment area benefits, even though Medicine is a really competitive course as you should already know. Schools like UI usually cut as much as about 75 points for a course like Medicine.
