About Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF):

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is an African-based, African-funded philanthropic organisation. Founded in 2010, our mission is to support entrepreneurship in Africa by enhancing the competitiveness of the African private sector.

We believe our work is driving lasting solutions that contribute positively to Africa’s social and economic transformation. Employing an integrated approach that utilises impact investments, selective grant making and policy development, we seek to influence the operating environment so that entrepreneurship in Africa can flourish.

It is our central belief that a vibrant African-led private sector is the key to unlocking Africa’s economic potential. With the right support, entrepreneurs can be empowered to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s prosperity and social development, giving back in tangible ways – like creating jobs.

As an African foundation, we aim to inspire truly pan-African institutional philanthropy that will resolve critical social issues on the continent.
