You are invited to apply for the 2015-2016 Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance PhD Scholarships in UK. The Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance (AEF) PhD programme is highly successful and respected both nationally and internationally. Recent graduates, who benefit from the extensive research contacts of staff across the world, have gained employment in a range of academic positions.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

Successful candidates will be expected to make a contribution to activities in the Department in return for a fee-waiver, a maintenance allowance of £13,863 per annum and a research support allowance of £2,250 over the registered period of study.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Recent graduates, who benefit from the extensive research contacts of staff across the world, have gained employment in a range of academic positions.
  • If you have not already studied a degree programme that was taught and examined in the medium of English we require evidence of language proficiency.
  • For IELTS: the minimum overall IELTS score is 6.5 with no score lower than 6.0 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

Application Procedure and Deadline:

The mode of applying is online. Under Application Type please select Research PG from the options. In the section ‘Planned Programme of Study’ please select either ‘Accountancy & Finance PhD’ or ‘Economics PhD’ from the options. Once you have completed your application, ensure that you click “Application is Complete” on the Checklist. If you have any problems with the online application process please emails your query to pgadmissions-at-hw.ac.uk.

2015 Fully Funded PhD Scholarship on National Human Rights Systems in Developing Countries

You are invited to apply for the 2015 Fully Funded PhD Scholarship on National Human Rights Systems in Developing Countries. The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Institute for Human Rights are looking for a PhD candidate to examine the mandate, the roles and the practices of state actors in relation to international human rights standards and systems in developing countries, ideally DIHR partner countries and/or DANIDA priority countries.

The PhD project shall document (selected aspects of) the mandate and the roles played by state actors, and analyse the challenges and opportunities they face, the interaction between different state actors, as well as the relationship to supranational human rights mechanisms.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

  • The Faculty of Law offers supervision by highly qualified academics and provides an excellent opportunity to research contemporary legal issues in an intellectually stimulating environment.
  • If you are offered a PhD position, you will receive a regular monthly salary in accordance with Danish law and you will be entitled to an annual research budget. The Faculty does not provide accommodation.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must have obtained a degree that correspond to the Danish Master of Laws or equivalent qualifications.
  • Applicants must have obtained a minimum overall grade average of 8.2 or above at the Master’s level in accordance with the Danish grading scale
  • Applicants may submit their application before they have completed their Master’s Degree, however, they should have submitted the final evaluation for their course before 1 June 2015.
  • Applicants must document an aptitude for research through the meritorious assessment of their final thesis, publications or academic recommendations in order to show that they are capable of undertaking the demanding task of writing a PhD thesis.
  • Applicants whose native language is not English must document proficiency in English by having passed one of the recognised language tests. For IELTS a minimum score of 6.5 is required. For TOEFL a minimum score of 90 (internet-based) or 231 (computer- based) is required.
  • Applicants who have obtained a university degree in a country in which English is the official language (Australia, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Canada), and applicants holding a Master’s Degree from one of the Nordic universities are not required to submit proof of English proficiency.

Application Procedure and Deadline:

Click ‘apply online’ to be taken to the online application form. We advise you to have the following documents ready before you begin your online application:

– Research project proposal. This should include the following:

(1) objective(s) of the research,

(2) major research questions,

(3) review of relevant literature,

(4) methodology to be applied in the research, and

(5) a timetable that plans for all course requirements to have been met within three years. The project description must elaborate on the value of the proposed research project in terms of its relevance to existing and future research in the field (maximum 6 pages excluding bibliography). The document must be in Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.5 and all margins (right, left, top and bottom) of 2 cm.

– Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages).
– Certified copies of original diploma(s) and transcripts (both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) in the original language and an authorized English translation if they are issued in other language than English or Danish.
– A certified explanation of grading scale in the original language and an authorized English translation if it is available in other language than English or Danish.
– The name of a member of academic staff whom you wish to have assigned as your supervisor.
– Letter of motivation that outlines how the project fits within the research priorities at the Faculty (maximum 1 page) and the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

2015 Carbon Finance Director’s Masters Scholarship at University of Edinburgh Business School, UK

You are invited to apply for the 2015 Carbon Finance Director’s Masters Scholarship at University of Edinburgh Business School, UK. University of Edinburgh Business School is offering Carbon Finance Director’s Scholarship for the year 2015. One Carbon Finance Director’s Scholarship with a value of £10,000 is available for a student on the MSc in Carbon Finance who is normally resident in any country in Africa or any least developed country.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

Scholarship of £10,000 value is available. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the expected benefits to the student.

2015 Fully-funded PhD Studentship in Engineering at Swansea University, UK

You are invited to apply for the 2015 Fully-funded PhD Studentship in Engineering at Swansea University, UK. Swansea University’s College of Engineering provides a fantastic study environment for postgraduate students. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 ranks Engineering at Swansea as 10th in the UK for the combined score in research quality across the Engineering disciplines.

2015-2016 HU Excellent Scholarship (HES) at Utrecht University in Netherlands

You are invited to apply for the 2015-2016 HU Excellent Scholarship (HES) at Utrecht University in Netherlands. HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht is offering two scholarships worth € 3,500 for non-EU/EEA students.

Eligible applicant must have been admitted to one of university English-taught bachelors programmes and had a GPA (grade point average) of 3.3. or B+ during their previous education. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

The Scholarship is valued at € 3,500 and is available for one academic year. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first- served basis.

Eligibility Criteria:

2015 City University London Global Leaders Scholarships for EU or International Students in UK

You are invited to apply for the 2015 City University London Global Leaders Scholarships for EU or International Students in UK. City University London is awarding a minimum of 50 global leaders undergraduate scholarships of £1000 to outstanding International and EU students.

The scholarship is payable in year one of the course and cash payments will be made in January 2016. Scholarships are awarded for students starting an undergraduate course at City in September 2015 who are taking further education qualifications in their home education systems.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

The scholarship is worth £1000 and a minimum of 50 scholarships are awarded. It is payable in year one of the course and cash payments will be made in January 2016.

Selection Criteria: Applications will be assessed by members of the City Scholarships and Bursaries committee on the basis of academic merit and the quality of applicants’ personal statements.

Notification: Students will be notified of the results of their application by 5 June.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for a Global Leaders Scholarship, you must:

To apply for a Global Leaders Scholarship, please complete the registration form by no later than 22 April 2015 in order to be considered for the scholarship. 2015-2016 PhD Scholarships in Statistics and Mathematical Finance, Italy

You are invited to apply for the 2015-2016 PhD Scholarships in Statistics and Mathematical Finance, Italy. The University of Milan-Bicocca is offering PhD scholarships in Statistics and Mathematical Finance for Italian and non-Italian candidates. Scholarships are awarded on merit based. For the academic year 2015-16 the PhD program is expected to admit 6 students with scholarship.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions:

A student on a scholarship will receive for the three-year period approximately €1300,00 net per month. She/he is expected to pay a contribution to tuition fees of around €400,00 per year. If a student is granted permission to complete her/his PhD abroad, the scholarship is increased by 50%.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. For candidates holding, or expected to obtain before September 2015, an Italian Laurea Magistrale or Laurea Specialistica, the selection is based on the curriculum vitae, a written test and an interview.
